Package ManagersTypical size: 500MB-5GB
Use Caution

Only if you do not need those pipx-installed CLI tools. They are isolated virtualenvs, not a cache.

Side effects: Commands installed with pipx will disappear until you pipx install them again.

What is ~/.local/pipx?

pipx installs Python applications into their own virtualenvs under ~/.local/pipx/venvs. This is software you asked to install, not leftover cache. Delete unused tools; keep ones you still run.

Is it safe to delete?

Use caution — While parts of ~/.local/pipx may be safe to delete, you should carefully review the contents before proceeding.

Consider backing up important data before deleting, and only remove filesyou're certain aren't needed.

What happens after deletion?

Commands installed with pipx will disappear until you pipx install them again. The folder will be recreated automatically by the application when needed. This process is typically seamless but may take some time depending on the amount of data that needs to be regenerated.
