Is nvm Cache Safe to Delete?
Yes. ~/.nvm/.cache stores downloaded Node.js source tarballs for nvm installs.
Side effects: The next nvm install of a Node version will re-download the tarball.
What is ~/.nvm/.cache?
When nvm downloads Node.js versions, it caches tarballs in ~/.nvm/.cache. This is separate from ~/.nvm/versions/node (the installed runtimes). Safe to delete — nvm re-downloads on demand.

Yes — ~/.nvm/.cache is generally safe to delete. The data in this folder is temporary and will be recreated by the application when needed.
